Higher Biddacott Farm has a sixteenth century farmhouse, this family-run working farm resides on the edge of the peaceful Taw Valley. It is close to the village of Chittlehampton and six miles from the market town of South Molton. The beautiful North Devon coastline and the wilderness of Exmoor are both close at hand. The farm is worked sustainably with heavy horses, using traditional methods.

The house faces south and has spacious rooms. Three double bedrooms are available, one of which boasts a splendid plasterwork ceiling. A log fire and wood burning stove heat the large sitting room and dining room. Scrumptious breakfasts and tasty evening meals are provided with homegrown produce. At Aberhyddnant Farm Cottages there could be no better place to spend time walking in the glorious countryside of the Brecon Beacons National Park, enjoying the clear, fresh air then returning to your cosy cottage for a cup of hot chocolate or glass of wine.

The two cottages have been sympathetically converted from existing farm buildings. At one time Nyth y Wennol would have been a hive of activity as this was the old dairy where butter and cheese were made for home use and for sale. Bryniau Pell has been converted from a cart shed and hayloft - traditionally an ideal place for the farm lads to court their true loves.

Both cottages boast well equipped kitchens with electric cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher and coffee maker. There is a shared utility/boot room with auto-washing machines and tumble drier.

Blackpitt Farm Cottages are located in the market town of Stow on the Wold, Cotswolds in Gloucestershire. The two cosy self catering holiday cottages are hidden at the end of a private drive.

The self catering accommodation has a private flower and lawned garden with seating, picnic tables and barbeque, ideal for summer breaks. Blackpitt is also charming in winter.

Something we recommend is getting up early on a frosty morning when everything is still and quiet, when the roads are empty and the birds are singing in the hedgerows.

As you tramp along the crispy ground you can see your breath in the cold air, it is these moments that capture the precious secrets of the Gloucestershire countryside.
