  • Redesdale Equestrian

    Redesdale Equestrian is situated just 11 miles from us. They are fully insured, licensed and Local Authority approved to provide riding lessons for adults and children of all ages and abilities, as well as pony care sessions and stable management training to complement your riding. They also offer private and semi-private escorted trekking for experienced riders.

  • Kielder Forest

    We said Kielder Forest is mighty and we mean it: this is the biggest man-made woodland in England and covers 250 square miles which = 160000 Acres. Roe deer roam here, alongside red squirrels and birds of prey.

  • Chillingham Castle

    Chillingham Castle is a 13th century, famed for action and battles. With its fine rooms, gardens, lakes, fountains and tea rooms, the castle has an extraordinary ownership bloodline which runs back to the 1200s. Just twenty minutes from the seaside, this romantic and thriving castle is perfect for short breaks or family days out! Or if you’re looking for a more chilling experience, as one of the most haunted castles in England, our ‘Torture Chamber’ and evening Ghost Tours are sure to entertain.

  • Lindisfarne

    Lindisfarne is internationally famous both for its medieval religious heritage and also its more recent picturesque 16th century castle. These, together with most of the community, are located on the Southern part of the island - the main focus for tourists and holidaymakers. Many are also attracted by the peace and tranquility which pervades the Island and the remote Northern conservation area, with more than its fair share of quiet beaches and unique natural history.

  • Mary Queen of Scots

    Within an hour's drive of the site are famed Northumberland and Scottish Borders attractions one of them is the budget-friendly Mary Queen of Scots' House.

  • Cragside

    Discover the first house in the world to be lit by hydroelectricity. It is crammed full of ingenious gadgets – most of them still working. The gardens are incredible. One of the largest rock gardens in Europe leads down to the Iron Bridge, which in turn leads to the formal garden. Children will love the adventure play area and exploring Nelly's Labyrinth, a network of paths and tunnels cut out of a vast area of rhododendron forest. (National Trust)
