Welcome to Thatch Close Cottages in South Herefordshire. Three beautiful 17th century holiday cottages that sleep between two and four guests each; or Threshing Barn (two cottages which can be interlinked) can accommodate up to six people.

Dogs are very welcome too. Enjoy walks straight from the door and explore the 12 acres of surrounding, tranquil countryside that we have been busy rewilding for over 30 years.

Idyllically located in peaceful countryside, some within a recognised Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), Thatch Close Cottages are a real rural retreat.

The Forest of Dean and Symonds Yat are less than 5 miles away, and Ross-on-Wye and Monmouth are both nearby. So you’ll find lots of places to visit and adventures just waiting for you.

Some of the land at Thatch Close Cottages is set in an Area of Natural Beauty (AONB), truly providing an escape from everyday life. You might see buzzards soaring high above, busy little flycatchers and even an elegant barn owl gliding over the meadows at dusk.

You’ll have everything you need to enjoy your holiday here – starting with a welcome tray of goodies when you arrive.

We are lucky to be located in one of the most beautiful counties in England; surrounded by breathtaking scenery that you never tire of.  So it is the perfect holiday destination for people who love getting out and about and exploring. There are walks and cycle routes galore along with paddleboarding and kayaking too.

Culture-enthusiasts love visiting the historic homes and buildings, or pottering around the picturesque market towns.
