Welcome to Thatch Close Cottages in South Herefordshire. Three beautiful 17th century holiday cottages that sleep between two and four guests each; or Threshing Barn (two cottages which can be interlinked) can accommodate up to six people.

Dogs are very welcome too. Enjoy walks straight from the door and explore the 12 acres of surrounding, tranquil countryside that we have been busy rewilding for over 30 years.

Idyllically located in peaceful countryside, some within a recognised Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), Thatch Close Cottages are a real rural retreat.

The Forest of Dean and Symonds Yat are less than 5 miles away, and Ross-on-Wye and Monmouth are both nearby. So you’ll find lots of places to visit and adventures just waiting for you.

Some of the land at Thatch Close Cottages is set in an Area of Natural Beauty (AONB), truly providing an escape from everyday life. You might see buzzards soaring high above, busy little flycatchers and even an elegant barn owl gliding over the meadows at dusk.

We are lucky to be located in one of the most beautiful counties in England; surrounded by breathtaking scenery that you never tire of.  So it is the perfect holiday destination for people who love getting out and about and exploring. There are walks and cycle routes galore along with paddleboarding and kayaking too.

Culture-enthusiasts love visiting the historic homes and buildings, or pottering around the picturesque market towns.

Lovely little cottage, everything we needed and more. Showers were amazing!

Showers were amazing! The little touches like the welcome basket , cling film and towels made it very easy . A lot go giggles had by all, and lovely welcome by Ed Thank you both X.

It's quiet, friendly, clean and welcoming.

This is NOT the first time visiting and won’t be the last. Being disabled and in a wheelchair it’s hard to find a holiday specifically for a disabled person/s with pets but, this place, I would thoroughly recommend. The whole area is dog welcoming. Not specifically the owners but definitely the dogs heh, heh. Seriously though, try it. It’s quiet, friendly, clean and welcoming. What more could you ask for???

Lovely accessible cottage

I am a fulltime wheelchair user an Valley View was perfectly adapted for us. There was a generous and tasty welcome basket. The wet room and kitchen had been well thought out and there was plenty of room for me to get around in my powerchair. Outside the views were fantastic and the grounds have been thoughtfully landscaped to allow good wheelchair access to a terraced area.

Welcome break in the countryside

The cottage caters for people with varying disabilities and the owners go out of their way to ensure that as far as is possible you have everything you need to make your stay comfortable and relaxing.
Parking is in front of the cottage.
Level access throughout the cottage. Bathroom equipped for disabled people with plenty of grab rails, walk in shower with seat, and rise and fall wash basin etc.

Well thought out

This was our second visit. My husband has Progressive MS and is wheelchair-bound, so has specific needs. We stayed at Valley View, which provided everything we needed. It’s difficult to find anywhere like this, and I have tried! It’s also very peaceful and tranquil with stunning views. I would definitely recommend it.
